CollegesWales International leads on delivering personal and professional development opportunities overseas for further education learners and staff.

From 2014 - 2020, Erasmus+ was the key funding source for these opportunities and CollegesWales International led large consortium projects on behalf of the FE colleges in Wales.   During this period, we successfully applied for €6.9m that provided overseas training and work opportunities for close to 3,000 learners and apprentices across Wales.

From 2020 onwards, the UK wasn’t a member of the Erasmus+ programme and Taith, Welsh Government’s international exchange programme and the UK Government’s Turing Scheme provided funding for similar opportunities.

Following the recent announcement that the UK is set to rejoin Erasmus+ from 2027, CollegesWales International represents the FE sector in Wales on the UK Government’s Erasmus+ FE/VET stakeholder group to ensure that the FE colleges in Wales have the most up to date information available and are ready to submit quality applications in the first round of applications.
