Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a key part of any process which can connect non-formal and informal learning to recognised entry standards and qualifications. Currently, there is no overarching policy in Wales for this process although many organisations use RPL to improve progress and opportunities in education, training and work.
We would like to invite you, or a colleague, to attend one or both of our free seminars on the use of RPL.
Seminar 1: An introduction to using RPL
Thursday 25 March 2021 (10.00am - 12.00pm)
This seminar is aimed at practitioners and will focus on:
- practical approaches to using RPL
- resources available to support the use of RPL
Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework Partnership (SCQFP) Development Officer, Fiona Garry, will lead the seminar.
Seminar 2: Using RPL with forced migrants
Thursday 25 March 2021 (2.00pm - 3.30pm)
This seminar is aimed at front line staff dealing with forced migrants on a daily basis and will focus on how:
- Scotland has been using RPL to support clients into work and/or training
- Wales might plan to address issues using RPL with forced migrants
Julie Cavanagh, Head of Partnerships and Communications, Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework Partnership (SCQFP), will lead this session.
ColegauCymru, the National Coordination Point for the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), is facilitating these seminars on behalf of the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework Partnership (SCQFP).
We hope you will be able to join us and look forward to welcoming you to one or both sessions. In the meantime, please contact Sian Holleran with any questions. Please also share this invitation with colleagues who may be interested in attending.
