Urdd Gobaith Cymru Peace and Goodwill Message 2025

This year, the Urdd’s Peace and Goodwill Message focuses on Poverty. With the current child poverty crisis in Wales and around the world, the Urdd and the young people of Wales have decided to focus on this all-important issue.

At ColegauCymru, we stand in solidarity with the young people of Wales in delivering this year’s Peace and Goodwill Message, which shines a powerful light on this issue and calls for change.

We’re delighted that this year's message was created by members of the Urdd and learners from Coleg y Cymoedd with the leadership of Save the Children.

With one in three children in Wales living in poverty, it is clear that change is needed. Poverty continues to be a barrier that denies young people the opportunities they deserve - opportunities to learn, to thrive, and to shape their futures with hope. The cost-of-living crisis has deepened these inequalities, placing additional pressures on learners and their families across Wales and beyond.

As the voice of further education in Wales, ColegauCymru is committed to promoting opportunities for all. We believe every learner should have the chance to reach their full potential, regardless of their background or circumstances. Through our member colleges, we work to remove barriers to education, provide essential support, and ensure that further education is a place of hope, fairness, and opportunity. Social value is at the heart of everything we do.

The young people of Wales are right to demand a better future - one built on dignity, compassion, and action. We echo their call. Together, we must continue to create a Wales, and a world, where poverty is no longer a limit on dreams, but a challenge we overcome with determination and unity.

Heddwch a gobaith. Peace and hope.
