We are delighted to report that Routes Cymru and CollegesWales International recently invited students from further education colleges from across Wales came together to take part in an exciting cookery and languages competition, the final of which took place on 26th February 2020.
The purpose of the event was to promote language learning as a life skill that can lead to many different career paths and saw teams of three students (one A level language student and two vocational catering/hospitality students) working together to create a delicious menu.
The date of the Final coincided with the Guinness Six Nations Championship matches in Cardiff which featured Wales, Italy and France. It was fitting to that the menu reflected the dishes and flavours of these three countries.
The four judges placed Cardiff and Vale College students in first place with their menu of Croquettes au Fomage Perl Las à la Sauce de Miel Gallois, Tournedos Rossini, Pommes Dauphinoise et Haricots Verts à la Française. The menu was completed with Tiramisu.
