Following Plaid Cymru’s announcement that Bethan Sayed MS will not be seeking another term in the Senedd Election in May 2021, ColegauCymru takes this opportunity to thank her for the support she’s given the FE sector in Wales.

A consistent advocate, Bethan has raised the profile of further education institutions and has been a voice for colleges, challenging both the Welsh Government and the Senedd in Plenary and committee to better address the needs of FE learners. Committed to engagement, Bethan actively sought to speak with the post-16 education policy sector, holding a number of meetings to explore policy ideas and solutions.

ColegauCymru Chief Executive Iestyn Davies said,

“We thank Bethan for helping to give a voice to further education in the Senedd and for recognising and supporting the causes which are important to our colleges. We wish her the very best for the future.”
