ColegauCymru have been working closely with our member colleges, joint trade unions and Welsh Government to prepare and agree arrangements to support the safe return of staff to Further Education Colleges in Wales from 15 June 2020.
Initially staff will return to prioritise face-to-face activity for those students requiring licence to practice assessments and some vulnerable learners.
The arrangements agreed are set out in the ‘Operational Protocol to support the return of staff to Further Education Colleges in Wales’. This includes a set of 45 protocols designed to ensure the health and safety of the college workforce.
The document is currently under review by the Welsh Government Technical Advisory Committee, with feedback expected week commencing 8 June 2020. The document will be updated in partnership with WG and JTUs as the weeks progress. This will be an iterative process as we begin to re-open our colleges for face to face teaching and look to embark upon a ‘new normal’ post Covid19.
